Text Box: Your 2008 tournament schedule has been set and we will be offering members of the LL/MW Men’s Club a wide variety of individual and team events this coming golf season. I am happy to report that Jim Lane will be working with me again this year and it is our objective to provide you with quality tournaments throughout the year.
We had a very successful season last year. Tournament play drew a total of 773 participants, an average of 77 golfers for each event. Prize money placed on credit in both pro shops totaled $20,262.10.
To qualify for play in LL/MW Men’s Club events listed on this year’s schedule, you must be a Men’s Club member for 2008 and have a valid handicap. Tournaments listed in bold face on the schedule are open to all amateurs with handicaps. All other events are for LL/MW Men’s Club members only. Sign-up sheets are posted at the golf course where the tournament is scheduled, three weeks in advance of the tournament date. When you sign up, please enter your Text Box: to April 12th. Tournament format for opening day is individual stroke play, flighted by handicap.
Your Men’s Club Handicap Committee will be posting tournament scores again this year. This will alleviate players having to wait in line in order to post their tournament score following Men’s Club events. Also, we will provide periodic messages electronically concerning upcoming tournaments, ie., reminders concerning dates, etc. If you would like to receive this additional information, please enter your email address on your membership application.
We look forward to an exciting year of competition and fellowship and we would like to encourage new membership. If you have friends who would like to participate in tournament golf or who would like to join just to establish a USGA handicap, have them visit the Liberty Lake or MeadowWood pro shop’s to pick up an application.
On behalf of your Men’s Club Board of Directors, we want to thank you for your past and future interest in participating in the LL/MW Men’s Club. Text Box: Page #
Text Box: first name initial and last name. If you sign up an entire group, please notify the other players so they know that they will be participating. We ask that you check in at the scorers table at least 30 minutes prior to your tee time. If you have signed up for a tournament and have to withdraw, please call the pro shop by midweek to cancel. We had a couple of instances last year when a player didn’t show on Saturday morning for a team event. It is very difficult to recruit a replacement player for a team event at the last minute. Please contact the pro shop by Friday afternoon or evening and I will do everything I can to recruit a player for a team.
Our opening day tournament is scheduled for April 12th at Liberty Lake GC. Complimentary breakfast and a general meeting are planned at 6:30 AM, followed by a shotgun start at 8:00 AM. If you are planning to play in this event, please have your 2008 dues paid by April 9th. You will also be required to have a valid handicap in order to compete for prize money credit. The sign-up sheet for this event will be posted at Liberty Lake three weeks prior Text Box: LLMW Men’s Club news

Tournament report by Tom Rau

From the liberty lake pro shop…..kit deandre, PGA pro.

It has been a winter to remember and with spring around the corner an early arrival would be very welcomed. I hope everyone made it through the off season and is ready for golf! Please make a note that this years opening day will again be at Liberty Lake Golf Course, because of the remodel/renovation schedule slated to begin on or about September 15, 2008 we won't be able to host the closing

What a long winter and hopefully by the time you all receive your 2008 Newsletter, the golf courses will be open.  We just want to welcome everyone back for a new season and if there is anything we can help you with please call the Pro Shop at Meadowwood Golf Course.

Once again I'm one of the luckier pro's thanks to a very low turnover rate.  Chris Curran, 1st assistant professional, will be back for his 12th season.  Brent Walsh, 2nd assistant pro, will be back

From the MeadowWood pro shop…….....Bob scott, pga pro

for his 2nd season as a pro, but he's also been at M.W.G.C. for over 8 seasons.  I'm happy to say that Mo Vasquez will be returning to run the Food and Beverage side of the golf course.  There will be many faces that are familiar and some new ones so come out and meet them.

We will again be custom fitting Titleist and Cobra products and we are very competitive in pricing. As a MW/LL Men's Club member you can take advantage of the automatic 10% off all

clubs.

Just a reminder,  it went so well with no Fivesomes in 2007, that we will continue with that same program.

Well I hope everyone had a great winter, but it is time to golf.  Hope to see you all soon.

Take Care,

 Bob Scott,PGA

day tournament, it will be held at MeadowWood Golf Course. We will be updating the you on the golf course remodeling and renovation work periodically, as well as it's impact on play, so keep an eye out for that information. Also it was requested that all golf shop credits be used prior to April 30, 2008, THAT REQUEST HAS CHANGED, because of the remodel work this year we will request that all

accumulated golf shop credit be used before we close for renovation on September 15, 2008. If you have any questions please call the Golf Shop and ask for Kit. We look forward to seeing you this spring!
